Your stories matter.
Stories shape our lives.
The stories we tell ourselves. The stories about us that others tell.
When we decide to come to therapy, it’s often because stories about our problems (and about how we are a problem) are dominating our lives.
You don’t have to stay stuck in the same narrative.
Therapy offers the chance to explore, create, and sometimes change the stories that shape us.
It would be my honour to support you in your journey.
Hello, I’m Hannah!
I am a queer, white, cisgender woman (she/her pronouns), living and working on unceded Annishnabe Algonquin territory (Ottawa, Ontario). I am a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist, and provide therapy to individuals ages 12+.
My work in the field of mental health began in 2007 and I completed my Masters of Social Work at Carleton University in 2011. I spent the following decade working in the social services sector with children, youth, and adults from 2SLGBTQ+ communities. I opened my independent psychotherapy practice in 2021
I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers, and seek regular supervision and consultation. I’ve also done extensive training around narrative approaches to therapy and working with trauma from a nervous system level through the Vancouver School of Narrative Therapy, the Narrative Therapy Centre, and Somatic Experiencing Ottawa.
My approach to therapy is grounded in social justice and anti-oppression, and guided by narrative, feminist, and somatic experiencing frameworks. Interested in working with me? Please reach out today.
